THE TEAM AT SPYDAR FITNESS
DAR MALECKI - Owner
My journey in fitness started several decades ago as a passion. It was something I simply loved to do. Over time, that passion became my career. Along the way, I’ve trained in just about every style imaginable. I did Powerlifting, Bodybuilding, the indoor cycling craze, and even CrossFit. I’ve owned and operated boutique fitness franchises, run my own studios, and spent a few years overseeing group fitness and personal training for a large commercial gym.
Through those experiences, I’ve learned some undeniable truths about the fitness industry. These truths that have become more obvious with the rise of influencers and get-fit-quick schemes. Too much of what’s out there isn’t just ineffective; it’s misleading. I’ve seen trends pushed for profit, workouts designed for entertainment rather than results, and coaching that barely scratches the surface of what people really need.
I became frustrated with the lack of real, effective coaching. I saw a need for coaching that meets people where they are, challenges them appropriately, and focuses on long-term success rather than quick-fix gimmicks. Fitness should be about strength, resilience, sustainability, and injury prevention. It shouldn’t be about flashy marketing or mass-produced programs that promise the world but deliver little. Over time, I shifted my focus to individuals aged 40+ because I saw a glaring gap in the industry. There was a lack of true understanding and emphasis on this demographic. Most trainers, while well-intentioned, simply don’t have the real-life experience to grasp the demands of the aging athlete. They often rely on generic training models that don’t account for the nuances of maintaining strength, mobility, and performance as the body changes. My goal has always been to provide coaching that acknowledges these realities, delivering training that is smart, progressive, and tailored to ensure long-term success for every client.
I built SpyDar Fitness to cut through the noise and bring people smart programming, real coaching, and a training environment that actually works. No gimmicks. No BS. Just training that gets people stronger, keeps them moving well, and helps them build a foundation that lasts a lifetime.

RACHEL ROSEN - CDO
Chief Dar Officer
By day, Rachel is a PhD-holding astrophysicist and software engineer, applying precision, logic, and science to her work. But beyond the telescope, she’s the CDO – Chief Dar Officer of SpyDar Fitness, the behind-the-scenes force that keeps everything moving.
Brains and strength define her talents, making her an essential part of the SpyDar engine. You can find Rachel sweating alongside you in training, coaching a class here and there, and keeping the scheduling on point. Whether it’s handling logistics, offering strategic insights, or powering through a tough workout, she proves that intelligence and athleticism go hand in hand.
Rachel’s fitness journey started as a dedicated marathoner, logging miles with little focus on strength training. But like many women hitting their 40s, she recognized that cardio alone wasn’t enough. She made the shift, adding several days of higher-intensity training with an emphasis on strength and power. That was a game changer. It wasn’t just about endurance anymore, it was about resilience, power, and long-term performance.
Her analytical mind extends beyond the lab and into the gym. Whether rowing or deadlifting, Rachel is a firm believer in proper form, efficiency, and understanding how the body moves. She practices what she preaches, demonstrating excellent technique and a deep appreciation for movement mechanics. Strength isn’t just about lifting heavy—it’s about moving well, training smart, and building a foundation for longevity.
It truly takes a village, and Rachel is at the heart of it all. She makes sure SpyDar Fitness runs like a well-oiled machine while proving that strength, precision, and knowledge go hand in hand.
